LCR meters (also known as Magnetic Analyzers or Impedance Analyzers) is an important instrument to measure various electrical parameters of a device. A LCR meter operates by first supplying a current bias to the device under test and thereafter, measuring the terminal voltage and current through the device as well as their phase relationship. From these measurements, the LCR meter can determine the device’s electrical characteristics; inductance (L), capacitance (C), resistance (R), dissipation factor (D), quality factor (Q), phase angle between the current and voltage (Ø), conductance (G) susceptance (B), impedance (Z) and admittance (Y).

When selecting a LCR meter, it is important to consider features related to accuracy, measured parameters, as well as test current, frequency and voltage.
